Orange Fly

Confessions of a Serial Interviewer by Steven Ra Ga

For a time I worked as a juice bar attendant. I often find when I get hired I want to work in teams. Have fun and make that friendship or connection wit to make the job better. But often employers just look at me and decided he would be fine on his own.

It always sucked getting left alone on shift when you didn’t really know you way around or have the confidence to keep a large amount of people happy.

This kinda of job was a challenge, you had to operate the juice bar, prep the and serve the food, keep the kitchen clean and clean the toilets. Definitely a 2 person job.

I lasted maybe a week.

I recall during training they said the Orange juice machine often had flys in it, there was almost no way to prevent a fly from getting into the machine so often customers were served orange juice with minced Flies. Gross.

I quit because I kept asking for help to work with someone during the rush periods but the owner kept telling me I would be fine on my own, so I quit to prove how difficult a job it was for just one person.
