Confessions of a Serial Interviewer by Steven Ra Ga
I saw an ad for an Engineer in audio, sound booth stuff. I had no idea what to expect but I could tell no one read my resume.
When I got to the location it was a massive private school, where all the 1% sent their kids.
The job pertained to a portion of the school. It soon became apparent the job really was about the VP’s past time being brought to life, he was a guitar player and wanted an audio engineer to help his music sound good on the off hours. The main part of the gig was setting up microphones for spelling bees and the like.
I thought I did well in the interview but compared to anyone else I am sure my lack of experience was the reason I wasn’t chosen.
