Confessions of a Serial Interviewer by Steven Ra Ga
One of my 1st jobs I was 18yrs old. I got a job as a “bagger” at the local grocery store. My duties were to bag groceries, help take them out and return carts.
It was a pretty chill job but during the rush it was hard.
My coworker was an adult handicapped guy. We didn’t interact much.
For the most part the job was tame and boring but every so often I was would screw up.
One time I was helping an old lady out to her car and ran over her ankle with the cart. I felt bad, all she did was bark at me. Oops…
Another time I was trying to put carts together an pinched my finger in between. My finger burst open and blood came rushing out, I recall almost passing out on the spot.
In the winter I would walk to work, through the snow for about 30mins. I even saw a wolf on my way once.
I left when it was time to go on a trip. I think I worked there about a year.
